According to the Koran, how does one get into paradise?

Over 100 times the Koran repeats this statement. . .believe (or have faith) and do good works (or deeds). It is the Islamic mantra that leads to salvation, the key to eternal life. Some of the verses immediately tell of what Paradise (or heaven) will be like if one follows that charge.

Other times the Koran emphasizes the good works are what really get us into Heaven, placing it first and the faith second.

If any do deeds of righteousness,- be they male or female - and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them. Surah 4:124

“Islam” means “submission” so salvation comes by complete submission to Allah. All that you do must be done according to Allah’s wishes.

The Bible on the other hand speaks of grace, saying that salvation comes by a gift from God and has nothing to do with good works. The Bible says that our good works are practically worthless.

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Isaiah 64:6

Unfortunately God’s standard of goodness, according to the Bible, is perfection.

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48 (Jesus speaking)

This means our works have to be absolutely fault-free, totally sinless and never failing. Impossible, right?

The Bible claims that God knows we will never do enough, so He gives us a break. . .also called grace. . .and asks us to only do one thing to continue our eternal relationship with God in heaven...

Believe.
