Therefore,
my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and
election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you
will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. 2 Peter
1:10-11
God wanted
you to become a Christian, a member of his family. He called you through the Holy Spirit, using
people and circumstances to impress his love for you on your heart. You responded, electing to surrender yourself
to his service.
God opens
the door for everyone to join the Christian faith, however, only a few will
respond. And while he calls everyone, he
knows exactly who will respond and when.
The invitation is general and personal.
As for
you, God has a specific calling and specific purpose for your life. He has elected you to serve him at church, on
missions, or at your work or school.
Respond and confirm that calling by saying “yes,” for you will receive a
rich and glorious welcome to heaven because you followed his design.
