We hear
that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are
busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus
Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:11-12
A busybody
is more concerned about how other people live than examining the way they
live. They invade the lives of others,
keeping the focus off their own sinful lives.
Busybodies
are judgmental, enjoying how they tear down others, making themselves feel
better in the process.
Paul
couldn’t stand those kind of people.
“Busy” for him meant sharing the gospel so others could live incredible
lives. Busybodies are busy making
themselves feel better.
Busybodies
spend more time talking than working.
The Bible tells them to shut up and get to work. Get busy helping people and stop gossiping
and hurting people.
