How can Jesus’ death forgive all those sins?

Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:18-19
Paul in Romans makes the case that since Adam caused one sin that caused many to become sinful, couldn’t Jesus do one righteous act that would domino into many becoming righteous?  Adam multiplied sinfulness through heredity, passing on the sinful gene through birth.  Jesus multiplies righteousness through belief, passing on the righteous gene by faith.  Plus, don’t forget, as eternal God, Jesus’ righteous act covers all sins eternally, past-present-future.  Adam could only affect the present and future.
