But your iniquities have separated
you
from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2
God
told Adam in the garden not to eat from a certain tree then he and Eve
did. Adam defied God for his own
personal well-being. God does not sin
and if he overlooked sin then he would be approving sin. So, he must separate himself from sinners or
his association with sin would make him sinful.
Those sins include (found in
Isaiah 59):
·
Murder
·
Lies
·
Injustice
·
Troublemakers
·
Violence
·
Rebellion
God promises to repay sinners for their sins,
unless they repent (verse 20). God does
not want separation. He wants to be
reunited and he took those steps through the temple in the Old Testament, on to
Jesus to remove that separation.
