a wife who married young,

As a young man marries a young woman,
so will your Builder marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice over you. Isaiah 62:5

Though much of the terminology God
uses for our relationship with him is as a Father or Jesus as a brother, rarely
he is compared to a spouse. In Isaiah
and other prophets, the writers compared Israel to a wife and God as a husband
to spotlight our adultery in turning away from God and to idols. Jesus also called the church a bride to be
taken away on our wedding day (Jesus’ return) to be with God forever. Besides that, any husband/wife terminology is
only meant to highlight the intimacy between God and his people. We aren’t to address God as our husband, but
rather our Father.
