“Forget
the former things;
do
not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19

We
should look back at the past and learn from it and we should focus on the
future and plan for it, but the key is dwelling on the past. If we’re stuck in the past, we’re replaying
our mistakes or living in the “glory years.”
That’s not healthy. Our focus
should be on the present (what we’re doing now) and on the future (what God can
do in our lives).
“New”
is where our focus should be, not “old.”
