The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone…Psalm 118:22
So this
is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“See, I
lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.
I will make justice the measuring line
and righteousness the plumb line;
hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie,
and water will overflow your hiding place. Isaiah 28:16-17

When
constructing a building, the first stone laid was the cornerstone, the ground
floor at the corner of the building.
It’s measurements and setting determined the plumb line which stretched
the rest of the walls in all directions.
If the cornerstone was off, the building was off.
Like
a cornerstone, God’s love sets the course of our lives. We base our love first on God’s love and that
helps us spread our love in every direction.
Many reject God’s love and want to build their lives on their personal
definition of love or the world’s definition of love. That just ends up falling apart.
