For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
Jesus does seem to be saying that. Why?
If we don’t forgive people then, most likely, we don’t completely
understand forgiveness.
Forgiveness means not holding a sin against a
person. God forgives us through Jesus
who died for our sins. Our sins have
been paid for and not held against us.
If you understand that freedom, you will want to free others and free
yourself from the burden you place on others.
Remember, we are forgiven as Christians, but that doesn’t
mean we stop sinning. God continues to
forgive over and over as we should do for others.
