“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” Matthew 5:31-32

            Jesus only gave one good reason for divorce – sexual immorality.  Now, could that mean a single one-night stand is grounds for divorce.  No.  How about 300 one-night stands?  More likely.  What about flirting with an old boyfriend online?  No.  What about moving into that old boyfriend’s apartment?  More likely.  But if a person surrenders to Jesus and is willing to be shaped and taught by truth, any marriage can be rescued.  There’s not a whole lot one can do if a person moves out and into another relationship.  There’s a lot that God can do if two people surrender to him.
