“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49

            The only indication that Jesus knew he was God/the son of God came from Luke chapter 2.  Accidentally left behind by his parents at a crowded Passover, they returned to find him quizzing the Jewish leaders and impressing people with his knowledge.  Jesus’ response to his parent’s question, “Where were you, son?” was the verse above.  He saw the temple as HIS father’s house.  The common answer would be THE father’s house or the temple.  The age of twelve was on the border of a Jewish boy coming of age at the age of thirteen.  So as a young man Jesus knew his identity going into adulthood.
